Gathering Light

Light is the subject and medium of GATHERING LIGHT. In a darkened room a spotlight is directed into concaved glass mirrors of various shapes with a small pool of water in each one. The light is distorted as it interacts with the curved mirror and the water, creating reflections on the wall and in the mirror.  The reflections are altered as the outside light filters through the room.  Science can explain the behavior of light and optics under these conditions, but the experience is visceral, mysterious and unpredictable.  Each reflective bowl is a quiet contemplative encounter that entwines subjectivity and logic.
